ABOUT THE COURSE


 

  • AIMED AT WHOM

 

The course is especially aimed at those who are working in health related areas in the public, private or non- profit making organizations.

 

 

  • OBJECTIVES

On completion of the course,

 

    You will gain a better understanding of the concepts related to health, its measurements, its dynamic nature and determinants.   

  • You will be able to develop an ability to understand the multifaceted nature of health, its organizations or sectors.
  • You will be able to apply the knowledge gained to analyze present and future challenges in health development.

 

 

  • TEACHING METHODS

The course will be delivered by experts drawn from a wide range of specialties e.g. epidemiology, demography, ethics, health, economics and social sciences.

 

The emphasis will be on case based interactive teaching, which would facilitate active learning by the participants. Field visits, group discussions, seminars and lectures will be included to complement the above. Participants will be guided by supervisors to complete their dissertation.

 

 

  • ASSESSMENTS

 

There will be varied types of assessments for the learners in order to re-in force learning.  During and after each module you will be assessed by a range of method such as short essay, assignments etc.  These assessments will essentially be to give feedback to you on your learning.  On completion of module nine there will be a more formal assessment.
